Can all three units in the home be rented together?
Absolutely! In fact, we LOVE when guests secure the whole home, as it’s easier for guests to use the shared spaces such as the porches and driveway. We also give a 10% discount off of the regular nightly rates when all three units are rented simultaneously!

Do you allow bridal parties to get ready for the big day on premises?
This is our specialty! The Lacroix is a wonderful place for bridal parties to spend the day getting ready together. We do require that the entire home (all three units) be booked together. This is for your privacy as well as the privacy of other guests. We also have another property in Covington that caters to bridal party stays called Sleepy Lagoon. Are parties/events allowed at The Lacroix?
Due to Covington City ordinances, parties and events are not officially allowed at The Lacroix. However, if all areas of the home are booked by the same guest, small family gatherings may be approved on a case-by-case basis.

What businesses and experiences are within walking distance of The Lacroix?
Too many to list them all! We are located in the heart of Historic Downtown Covington, just one block from incredible shopping and dining on Lee Lane as well as two blocks from a multitude of retail, museum and art offerings on Columbia Street. The Lacroix is directly across the street from The English Tea Room, and we are within 2-3 blocks of favorite spots such as The Southern Hotel, Bogue Falaya Park, Columbia Street Landing, The Covington Trailhead, Christ Episcopal and St. Peter Churches, and so much more!

Do you have any other short term rentals in the area?
Yes! We have an 18-acre property just five miles north of The Lacroix that backs up to the Bogue Falaya River. It’s called Sleepy Lagoon, and there are two full homes offered there as short term rentals and special event spaces. Sleepy Lagoon is perfect for overnight accommodation as well as small special events such as dinner parties, baby/bridal showers, adult birthday parties, photo/video shoots, family reunions, small business retreats, and girlfriend/couples’ getaways. Do you offer mid to long term stays?
We do offer mid-term stays at The Lacroix based upon availability. For monthly stays we offer 30-40% off the nightly rates, based on the season. We do not currently offer long term rentals (over 3 months). We do have another property in Covington available for mid to long term stays. Please visit www.sleepylagoonla.com for more information.

Do you allow pets?
We do not allow pets in the Luxe Landing. We accept dogs in the Grande Landing and Loft Apartment upon request and for an additional fee. Service dogs are always welcome with proof of registration. Cats are not allowed at any time.

Is the home handicap accessible?
Unfortunately, The Lacroix is a raised, 120-plus year-old home. Because of this, there are stairs leading to every entrance of the home, and the interior doors are not wide enough to accommodate wheelchairs.

Do you offer any extra amenities?
Absolutely! We offer an array of specialty packages to suit your needs. From a stocked fridge upon arrival to an in-home massage therapist, a private chef for a specialty dinner, or a simple bottle of champagne and charcuterie board waiting for you at check in…we’ve got you covered!

Why should I book direct instead of through Airbnb or VRBO?
Bottom line…Booking direct saves you money! By booking direct you cut out the middleman and don’t pay service fees to the OTAs (Online Travel Agencies). You also have access to book dates further out on the calendar than what is offered on the OTA calendars.

Can I request an early check in and/or late check out?
When possible, we can accommodate early check in and/or late check out. Extra fees may apply. Please inquire!

Is The Lacroix available for hourly rental for photo/video shoots?
We love sharing our home with photographers for professional photo shoots! Bookings for photo sessions are allowed on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays. Please inquire for rates and availability. Separate contracts must be executed and proof of insurance is required.

Do you offer discounts for weekly stays?
Yes! All stays seven days or longer receive a 10% discount off the regular nightly rates.

SO MANY REASONS! My goal is to provide a unique space for you to stay, relax, and celebrate with your family and friends. I offer personalized accommodations and take great pride in the fact that I grew up in this area (I’ve lived in St. Tammany Parish for over 5 decades!). I am extremely passionate about supporting local businesses and am a 2000 graduate of the Leadership St. Tammany West program. The Lacroix is a member of the St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce as well as the Covington Business Association and the Covington Historic Foundation. We participate in and sponsor numerous local events to help celebrate our Covington community. We are partners with the Covington Food Bank, collecting donations from our guests to help fill the Food Bank’s shelves. And we give back to local non-profits by providing free night stays to numerous auction events to help raise funds for worthy causes.
